Addressing your dachshunds reactivity – the bare bones. Stripping it all back, no singing and dancing apps or videos. Here its just me talking you through what may be happening and how you can work to address the issues you are having. I have been trying to work out how to make things more accessible for people in a practical way. Looking at the hundreds of apps, courses, services supplied its just so confusing. All we want to do is help and train our dogs! Ultimately in my research I have found that people want to understand their dachshunds but really you just want some practical solutions to help your dogs. I incorporate so much into my barking courses to give people just that, but I appreciate it takes a lot of commitment. Here, I am trying to consolidate the key components to get you started and thinking. The bare bones, the key things you need to think about and do to make changes. Things you can do and just get on with at your own pace. Ways to manage when you just don’t have the time and things you can do within your normal routine. Whilst it is 1 session, I will split it into 2 parts with a short break between. Part 1 – WHY ARE THEY BARKING? HOW DO I PREVENT IT? WHERE DO I START? The why is important! If you have the wrong why then you may go down the wrong path of training which will eventually lead to you giving up. Understanding why they are barking and what they need is the key to making permanent changes. We introduce some simple training exercises to get you started before moving onto Part 2. Part 2 – We’ve done the whys and the most important part of the process looking at prevention. But now, what do I do? How do I get away from prevention and avoidance and move towards making permanent change? Looking at ways to change the need for them to react. Talking about changing their emotional state and creating a calmer, happier dachshund and as a result a calmer and happier dachshund parent. What you get 2-3 hour Zoom session Loads of information to think about Practical things to work on at your own pace. Recordings will be available after via a closed facebook group
